Undeniably tourism is one of the
industries that bring big revenues in every place, but what attractions draw
visitors to the place definitely remain a big challenge.
Its ultimate important that something unique
or the selling niche to offer to keep the tourists coming to the place. However,
there are not enough tourist attractions in Kuala Terengganu to keep tourists busy
and wanting to come back for more.
As the state capital, Kuala Terengganu still not
has many tourist attractions known to many people. Instead many known the place
for the rich seaside along the road and the beautiful Islands like Perhentian
Island, Redang Island, just name a few.
What
claimed to be the small unique town known for its local attraction is Turtle
Alley in the China Town, Kuala Terengganu. It is located between two of shop
houses. A huge wooden-carved map at the entrance of Pulau Warisan Road, which
is at the end of China town road clearly shown the way to the unique place.
Actually, the alley is a narrow pathway
between two shops houses that served as a shortcut by local people. It was then
created and launched on 20th July, 2012 to put up a remainder for turtle
conservation by features turtle-themed artwork on the walls.
The painting as
well as the facts and figures about turtles, the story of “Little Turtle Messenger”
and the turtle mosaics at the floor are the niche selling point.
Although both sides of the walls have replicated
in the form of wall mosaics about the stories about turtles, however, the path
of Turtle Alley is too narrow and dark for a person to throughway.
