Nilai, an emerging education hub is a town under Seremban District Council, and then upgraded to Nilai Municipal Council in 2002. It has been growing at a faster rate than other places in the state as a whole.
Due to the
Putrajaya, KLIA Airport and Xiamen University at a
15 km radius and
surrounding densely populated
that promise of jobs and prosperity, among other factors, continues
to develop and push people to Nilai.
An
initiative by the state government to turn Nilai into
an educational hub, thus several foreign and local institutions of higher
education such as Nilai University, INTI International University, Manipal International University, University Sains Islam Malaysia and Islamic University College of Malaysia were set up here. It acts as a basic pulling factor. With
the influx of great numbers of global learners, the town is occupied by
students from all over the world and students over 30 countries can be easily
seen in Nilai.
On the other hand, Nilai
is one of the closest place to Kuala Lumpur
and due to its proximity, and connection through the KTM to Kuala Lumpur, thus cause the influx of
people who work in the area of Kuala Lumpur, opting
increasingly for condos or rental apartments.
The influx of people, largely young people, they are
changing the place, thus the transformation will
radically transform the
economy. Clearly, the foundations are being laid for a large-scale
transformation.
Nilai
has emerged as popular centers with the operating of
several major shopping Hypermarkets such as Tesco,
Giant, Mydin, Nilai 3 Wholesale Centre and Nilai Square. Moreover, the
proposed new AEON
Nilai Shopping Mall set to be one of the biggest AEON mall in Malaysia with the total
lettable area of 1.2 mil ft2, targeted opened in 2018. The
24-hour KFC Nilai Square outlet is the first certified Eco-friendly Restaurant
besides 3 McDonald
outlets.
Currently,
the medical faculty of the International Islamic University Malaysia and the International University College of Nursing were being constructed
besides the construction of the RM 1.2 bil Education Ministry complex, the
Aminuddin Baki Institute, Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Pendidikan Teknik, English Language Institute, Tunku Kurshiah College.
The Britain’s Epsom College has acquired land in Bandar Enstek to venture outside the UK and the setup of Epsom College Malaysia is the first institute
outside England. In addition, the City University College of Science and Technology also signed an agreement to acquire a 40
ha land recently.
The continuing development of the small town foreseen the sustainable development both in the advanced economies and the developing sector.
