Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced on Saturday to boost the economic role of Malays will not threaten the status of other races in the country.
The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), which represents more than 28,000 Malaysian Chinese companies, individuals and trade associations, believes whatever new policy that Putrajaya unveils will assist the poor and the underprivileged within the Malay community.
Its vice-president Tan Sri Lim Sing said although many Malays had improved themselves since the decades-old affirmative policy was implemented, there are still many who are lagging behind and need help.
“Najib is a good leader; he takes care of all races. I hope this practice can continue,” say Tan Sri Lim Sing.
