Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Hasan Mohamed Ali has been warned twice by his party for being out of line with the spirit of opposition party as he repeatedly makes comments that undermine opposition party.
Ironically, he is clearly seen as to help Umno to stage a Perak-like coup d'état".
The latest of Hasan's controversial statements was on the state government's Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat).
The proposal for restrictions on the sale of alcohol in Selangor and the stand over issues concerning the donation of sacrificial cows, purchased by Selangor State Development Corporation companies, to mosques in the Bandar Tun Razak constituency, where Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is MP had been seen as attempting to undermine the cohesiveness of the Selangor opposition government.
After the opposition won Selangor in the 2008 general election, Hasan had reportedly discussed the possibility of a pact with the BN's Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, the former Selangor Menteri Besar.
The question arises: Has Hasan Ali proved to be a liability not only to PAS but to the Pakatan Rakyat coalition?

I liberally describe his action as outstanding and standing up to what he belief. Truly he demonstrates a politician with great focus and dignity. I am sure Umno has nothing to do with this and it’s just the stance of prejudice in PR that would want to make Hassan’s mission to be seen in negative way and the alcohol issue is actually being market by Umno to hit PAS.. Let us see the benefit of having an alcohol free area or likewise nation. The benefit is for all races and its delivered for human race. As U knows alcohol is hazardous to your health, the mother of all illness and will bring to more uncivilized well being, like aggressive behavior and fighting and complex mental diseases. Let see below numbers and see the benefits.

Another medical study suggests that men who drink can cause birth defects to their babies. Is that so? According to a 10-year German study babies born with fetal alcohol syndrome suffer long-lasting brain damage, though many physical deformities diminsh over time. According to a 1988 study by the American Medical Association (AMA), it has been found that 100,000 deaths and $85.8 billion are linked to the abuse of alcohol, with 25 to 40 percent of hospital beds being occupied by people being treated for complications from alcoholism. This cost is more than that for drugs and tobacco put together. The question is are we prepared to pay this enormous cost? Should all of us share this cost equally? Should there be a tax on alcohol so that the health care costs of alcoholism are paid by its drinkers? Many states have risen the drinking age to 21, hoping to reduce fatalities. Should older people be allowed to drink, while forbidding the young adults?
All western NGO’s is fighting to free their nation from Alcohol, why not us. Hassan’s mission is good for now and future days in all aspect. Don’t try to reject this by saying it will demolish the freedom of non-muslim in Malaysia. It’s not about Muslim and Islam, it’s about the human race, wake up everybody. Don’t try to cheat our way just because we feel we can only celebrate our happy hour by only consuming alcohol. I stand behind Hassan on this alcohol issue as a human.
